Uganda Christian University has long been a pioneer in environmental education and research. This tradition continues today with the Faculty of Science and Technology that are committed to teaching and researching engineered solutions to problems in the atmospheric, terrestrial, and aquatic compartments of the environment. Undergraduate research and design projects in Environmental Sciences and Engineering cut across departments and schools, and cover topics in environmental technology, atmospheric sciences, environmental chemistry, microbiology, water management, energy, climate, and oceanography.
Students in Environmental Sciences and Civil Engineering study the fundamental processes and technologies underlying environmental systems, including natural and polluted waters and soils, the atmosphere, climate, and energy. Students learn to apply these principles to develop solutions to complex environmental problems and to mitigate human impacts on the environment.
